Cahir Meet & Train Group

The Cahir Meet & Train Group have been busy over the past few weeks putting people through their paces in preparation for the Operation Transformation 5 km on Saturday 20th February and it will be a 11am start.

We have huge numbers attending on Tuesday and Thursday nights and the couch to 5km group are progressing nicely. There are 5 levels of fitness from running down to walking so something for everyone. There is no charge but we insist on a high visibility vest and obey the rules of the road. This week the OT programme steps up to starting with a 5 minute walk to warm up, followed by 3 repetitions of 5 min run followed by a 3 minute walk and finish with a cool down. Orders have closed for the meet and train t shirts and a total of 120 should be available next week. Last Sunday's walk was to Slievenard led by Aidan O Connor and a good crowd braved the elements. The ridge was wet and visibility was poor but hopefully next Sunday's walk will be better. We meet in Dunseke at 10.15 or at Apple Green on Dungarvan Road Clonmel at 10.45 for a walk led by Susan Cloonan. Once again we should be back by 1 and most will be forestry track.

In the meantime get your runners and track suits on and join us midweek for some exercise and a social experience. The group would like to extend sympathy to group member Tracy Hennessy on a recent family bereavement.
