Water levels expected to rise over next 24 hours

Water levels expected to rise over next 24 hours. Max levels reached in Clonmel were 4 m above on Tuesday last. They are currently at 3.25m. The highest recorded previously in 2005 was 3.76m. The flood defences have shown that 4m can be handled. Officials have the Army on standby and will evacuate upto 100 homes if needed. Cllr Andy Moloney reported these facts following their meeting in Clonmel this evening. Once again he complimented the council staff which are doing Trojan work over the festive period and leaving family time behind to keep the county flowing. Hopefully the break in weather tomorrow will give the river a chance to subside before the next spell hits us. Once again, like our weather watch last week, information updates can be got through Cahir News
