Cahir Park AFC Notes
U14 girls headed to Killenaule Sunday morning in horrendous conditions where it was touch and go before the game finally went ahead. The girls were on top from kick off and played a brilliant display of football in the conditions. An early goal from Rosanna Kiely settled the nerves for the Cahir girls. Killenaule defended well and Cahir missed plenty of chances. Leah Fitzgerald and Robin Carey added to the score sheet making the final result 3-0 to Cahir. Well done girls.TSSDL U16 Premier League ResultCahir Park 1 St Michaels 0Well done to our U16s on a gritty display against a strong St Michaels 11 in a tough league game at Cooke Park Saturday. Cahir were more dominant all over the park with Robert Condon solid at the back , just before halftime Brian chalky Walsh ran onto a tru ball and slotted home making it 4-3 to Cahir at halftime. Aaron Condon was replaced due to injury and Coveney came on right side midfield with Jason Hally going back into middle of the field, Cahir were on top pushing and playing some good attacking football with Dean O Brien putting in excellent performance putting Brian chalky White tru to make it 5-3. Excellent work was put in from Jason Hally and Conor Londergan in middle and Jack Duggan and Dean O Brien were causing havoc on the left wing time and time again , Park were in total command and the excellent Tom Keating combined with Conor Londergan to set up Brian chalky White to make it 6-3. Well done to players and management for showing the fighting spirit never gave up.Our U12 Division 1 team travelled to St.Michaels this morning and found themselves up against a tough side. Michaels 8 Cahir Park 2St.Michael's went 1-0 up early with Cahir equalising a few minutes later with a goal from Mark Flanagan. Cahir really started to put the pressure on but St.Michael's went 2-1 up close to half time. St.Michael's then dominated the 2nd half scoring 3 goals in quick succession. Cahir pulled one back with a goal from Kyle Hayes and had a couple of great chances but were unfortunate not to score. St.Michael's were just the stronger team on the day and put another 3 goals past our keeper. Not our day unfortunately but we still got a couple of goals past them and even though we knew at one stage that we weren't going to catch them, Cahir kept their heads and didn't just hand them their win, they made them work for it. They showed that they are resilient and determined and they know what areas need to be worked on.Well done boys a minor set back just put it behind ye days like today only make ye stronger.SFAI U12 Result Cahir Park 0 - 5 Evergreen Hard luck to our young lads who were beaten by a very good Evergreen team but they stayed battling to the very end.
