Cahir Park AFC Notes

Munster Junior Cup 1st Round

Old Bridge (2) v Cahir Park (1)

Our Juniors travelled to Old Bridge and put up a brave fight just to be narrowly defeated.

Nothing could separate the sides at half time, Cahir had the better of chances but just couldn't put the ball in the net. HT 0-0

Cahir started the brighter and went 1 up through a Mark Costigan goal. We unfortunately went down to 10 men with 10 minutes left in game and Old Bridge took advantage of this and got 2 quick goals.

Best of luck to Old Bridge in the remainder of the competition.

U12 girls headed to Killenaule Sunday for a league game. There was great fun had running off the treats got from last nights trick or treating. All girls had a great game and showed their growing ability with great passing and team work during the game. Our new additions to the panel enjoyed their first game out too. Killenaule defence were a force to be reckoned with and proved a challenge for the Cahir girls at times. There was plenty of missed chances but the girls settled to comfortably win the game. Well done everyone on a great display.

U16 girls had a sluggish start with a depleated panel playing against Cashel who had no trouble against our newly formed team. The Cahir girls came out fighting in the second half and showed that with a bit of work and determination they will be a match for the already established teams in this competition. Well done. Keep the heads up girls and best of luck for the season ahead.
