Make Safety a number 1 priority this Halloween

Make Safety a number 1 priority this Halloween - Lonergan

Independent County Councillor, Martin Lonergan is urging young and not so young to make safety their number one priority this Halloween!

His comments come as families across the Borough District are gearing up for the Halloween celebrations on Saturday night.

"I would ask that once again all activities are engaged in responsibly and with some thought for our elderly neighbours and vulnerable members of our communities who can find the experience a little intimidating and frightening!

Children in particular need to be very visible especially given how dark the evenings have got in the past week!

Halloween night can also see an increase in work for our Emergency Services. To that end, they should be left go about their work without fear of intimidation or worse.

I would also urge pet owners to ensure their pets are not directly affected by bangers and noise which usually can cause them great stress and in some instances they can run away and get lost!

Most of all, to everyone celebrating the festivities, Happy Halloween!"
