The Cahir Tidy Towns Group continue to meet on Wednesday evenings while the weather remains fine. We can still do odd bits in preparation for 2014. Last weekend we cleared the beds on the Tipp Road and cleaned and removed debris and weeds from the Tipp Road roundabout. We are making steady progress in Cahir Abbey with the boundary wall building and the cross has been painted. This project is due for completion in May after 2 hard years of work. We have asked the council for assistance in tar and chipping the road down to the abbey for an official opening next year.
We have also had talks with the council to upgrade the Public Toilet in Cahir and a modern bring bank facility at the rear. This is currently been considered by the officials with a view to works in 2014. Our thanks to Majella Morrissey and the Council for the lovely seat at the Memorial Garden. Thanks also the Kieran Burke for a neat job.
We are encouraging children to set some wildflower in the prepared bed in the Inch field and look forward to some extra color next year. Still lots to do and its onwards and upwards for next year. Meet as usual on Wednesday at 7pm sharp as evenings are slipping.
