Cahir Girls - Intermediate Camogie Champions

History was created on Saturday last at the Ragg as Cahir became Intermediate Camogie Champions after defeating a fancied Silvermines team in the final.

At half time Cahir lead by a single point 0.6 to 0.5 and at times struggled with the physical strength of their opponents but in the second half the girls showed their true skill and determination and ran out winners 0.14 to 0.9. The defence were magnificent all through with Lorna McEniry, Emma Buckley and Aoife Corcoran especially catching the eye. Aisling McCarthy played a captains part at midfield and the forwards were made work hard for their scores with Ashling Moloney the out-standing player but she was ably assisted by Caral Casey, Laura Dillon, Sinead Kennedy and Caoimhe Condon. Cahir will play in the senior grade next year which is a great achievement for a club only founded in 2002.

Scorers; A. Moloney 0.8 (0.4F), A. McCarthy 0.3, S. Kennedy 0.2, C. Casey 0.1
