Cahir Park AFC Notes

Goals Galore Sunday in the Park as our Juniors played St.Nicholas in the Division 1 league.

Cahir started the brighter when we took the lead after 5 minutes from a Dylan Fitzgearld shot from the edge of the area it was 2 nil after 20 minutes a Willie Dunne header ... The visitors pulled one back on the hour mark and drew level after 70 mins .... Willie Dunne restored our lead a minute later the visitors drew level on 80 and Liam Casey got the winner on 87 mins.

Game finished Cahir 4 St.Nicholas 3

Another hard fought battle but a win is a win this is 2 in a row under new management John Halpin also good to see some old faces playing for the club again.

Well done lads keep it going......

Our youth team travelled to Two Mile Borris today for the Munster Youth Cup 2nd Round and what a game this was with end to end stuff from both sides.

Cahir started slowly and found themselves 2-0 down but they did not give up and went on to win 7-5 credit to all players considering we lost Dylan Nugent through injury halftime and Lorcan O Dwyer injured when only coming on for about 20 mins hope nothing to serious lads and look forward to seeing ye back on the pitch soon.

Scorers for Cahir

U15 SFAI SKECHERS CUP

CLONMEL CELTIC (2) V CAHIR PARK (2) AET CAHIR WIN ON PENALTIES.....

Exciting game in clonmel Saturday morning as our U15 boys played Clonmel Celtic in the SFAI Skechers Cup this was a very tight game with some great defending from both sides with the score at half time 0-0

First goal in the second half came from Clonmel Celtic on the 51st minute, 56th minute saw the Cahir Park keeper sent off for denying a goal scoring opportunity. This made things hard for cahir park as now down to 10 men but this didn't stop the boys and on the 63rd minute got their deserved equalizer making it 1-1 scorer Rhys O'Regan from the penalty spot.

Game entered ET and Cahir were on top and got the lead through Rhys Byron but this didn't last long and Celtic got one back so AET game finished 2-2.

So the dreaded penalty shoot out took place Cahir boys held their nerve and won on penalties which sees them into the next round.

Well done to all involved.

Other Schoolboys results from Saturday......

Both our U11 teams played Bansha in the Non Competitive league Bansha came out on top in both games but early days for these young lads so heads up.

Schoolgirls

U12 girls had their first game of the season Sunday morning in Duneske v Kilbehenny. The squad welcomes all the new players, many who are starting soccer for the first time and who are looking forward to playing this season. Well done to everyone who played. The game could have gone any direction with both sets of girls playing very well. Cahir eventually broke the deadlock and even though the game was tight the chances went Cahir's way with a final result 4-0. Well done everyone.

Another piece of history for the park Sunday morning with our newly established squad of u16 girls travelling to Peake Villa for their first game of the season. This was a hard journey for the girls against an established Peake Villa team. The game was very one sided in relation to the result but the girls never gave up playing their hearts out. We are off the ground now and are looking forward to the season ahead. Best of luck to the girls and management.

The Club would like to congratulate Robyn Carey who played for South Tipp in the U12 Munster blitz Tipp lost the final on penalties to Clare horrible way to go out of a competition but great achievement to get that far.
