Local Awards Night for Tidy Towns

The Cahir Tidy Towns Local Awards Night will be held in the Shamrock Lounge on Friday 9th October at 9pm. The Guest of Honour on the night will be a contingent from Emly led by Seamus Heffernan who will give a few words of wisdom to the group that has helped Emly to National success. There were 4 judges from out of town for this year's competition and each entry was judged on 2 occasions. Only those who returned their entry form on time were judged as it would be impossible to judge the whole town. Everyone is welcome on Friday night to hear the talk on how to improve their area and hear the winners announce. We would like to thank Super Valu again this year for their generous sponsorship.

This week also sees the start of phase 2 of the St Declan's Way and some Trees in the Grove are still for sale. These are available to Families or Companies in order to make them affordable. This will be a huge feature of the Town next year when the 10,000 bulbs start flowering.

Carving in the Inch Field continue with Philip Quinn, Stonemad wood and Stove Sculpting , Holycross.

Meet this coming Wednesday at 7pm to do a litter pick.

Meet and Train Group

Last weekend some members of the Meet & Train Group walked the last leg of the St Declans Way from Aglish to Ardmore. There was a good turnout and a great evening was had by all at the Round Towers hotel after the event. Thanks to Kevin O Donnell for leading the walk.

Meet and Train continues this coming Tuesday and Thursday evening at 7.30pm. congrats to one of our regular runners Cathriona Healy who tied the not at the weekend. We wish herself and Marcus many years of happiness in their wedded life together.
