Cahir Intermediate Camogie Team

Cahir Intermediate Camogie Team stormed to the county Intermediate final in their first year at the grade with a 3.17 to 2.8 victory over Newport at Templederry on Sunday morning. The first half was a close affair with both sides trading scores. The Cahir defenders were finding it difficult to contain the Newport forwards while at the other end some good moves involving the Cahir forwards lead to some fine finishing from Ashling Moloney, Ashling McCarthy and Roisin Howard. Half-time scoreline Cahir 2.8 to Newport's 2.5.

On the resumption the Cahir defenders got stuck into their opponents, with Emma Buckley lording it at centre-back and Lorna McEniry getting the better of the speedy Keely Lenihan. Cahir tagged on the points with good scores from all the forwards and when Carol Casey robbed the goalie of a ball she was about to clear and stuck it smartly in the net, it was game over for Newport and Cahir will now contest their first ever Intermediate Final on Saturday 10th October @

4 pm against Silvermines.
