Gravity Music Festival

The Inch Field beside Cahir Castle is where you will want to be this Saturday 12th September. The Headliner band on the day are Hermitage Green with supporting acts such as The Hot Sprockets,The Minutes, The Dead Heavys and not forgetting Cahirs Nev Flynn and Macalla to mention just a few. Gates open at 3.30 with the music beginning at 4pm sharp. Tickets are selling rapidly but there are a limited number left. These can be bought at Ticketmaster or from Cahir House Hotel. Tickets cost €20 for an individual or €50 for a family ticket (2 adults and up to 3 children ). Children u16 must be accompanied by an adult There will be a bar, trader stalls and children's entertainment to amuse the kids while their parents enjoy the concert. Part proceeds of the concert will be given to South Tipperary hospice Movement.

Cannonball Returns to Cahir

For the second year in a row the magnificent Cannonball Run is coming to Cahir on Sunday 13th September. Approx 170 super cars and celebrities are due to arrive in Cahir at 1.15pm where they will park up in the Inch Field where young and old can meet the drivers and inspect the cars. There will be loads of activity in the Inch before the cars arrive with The Wayheys and Super Soul Machine entertaining the crowd before their arrival. Lots of trader stalls and a big variety of children's entertainment going on at the same time. There will be a bucket collection for the Make A Wish Foundation the charity for Cannonball while the cars are in town so please support this worthy cause. There will be designated car parks on the many entrances to town to accommodate spectators on Sunday as parking in the town will be restricted.

Soapbox Derby/ Ball Drop

Once the Cannonballers roar out of town at 3.15 the activity moves to the square where the Soapbox Derby takes place at 4pm. This was a very entertaining event last year and word is that it will be bigger and better this year. The Gravity/Cannonball weekend will conclude with the Ball Drop down castle street. Tickets are now on sale in many businesses in town, from any committee member or from reception at Cahir House Hotel. It costs €2 for one line and the prize is €1,000 to the ultimate winner.
