Cahir Tidy Towns Group
The Cahir Tidy Towns Group have been busy organising the St Declan's Grove area and this week should see the contractors move in to clear the site fully. When this is complete we will be creating layers to plant the trees and bulbs and a railing along the top walkway. Some trees in the area will need some surgery so please don't panic when you see men climbing them. The 40 trees that will be planted will be available for sponsorship by families at a cost of €300. This will include the brass name plate as well as maintenance and will be a life long investment. Already, there are 10 trees booked so if any family wants to invest please don't leave it too late to do so. In case people don't know, it's the area beside the Memorial Garden. Last weekend saw a second round of judging in the local competition and we would like to thank the four judges who travelled to CAhir to judge the competition. Only those entered will be judged. We meet as normal on Wednesday at 7pm.Cahir Meet & Train Group competed in the Duhill Dash and all did really well. Over the coming weeks we will be preparing for the women's mini marathon and will be including a Saturday session. As the kids have gone back to school we hope to see a few extra back on Tuesday and Thursday nights for some walking and running. We will have a suicide awareness walk from the Castle Street Car park on Thursday 10th at 7pm as part of World suicide day. A donation bucket will be available on the night.
