National Suicide Prevention Week

The National Suicide Awareness week will take place for 6th to 13th September. Locally we will have a congregation of cyclists from all clubs in the locality who will leave various destinations to be in the Castle Street Car park, Cahir for 11.30 on Sunday 6th September. After a brief stop and a photo shoot they will be on their way again back to their base. There will be a donation bucket at the car park for a Suicide Ireland cycling shirt. For further information contact Tony Duggan or Breeda Hewitt about this venture. If you are cycling from a distance away please judge to be in Cahir for 11.30.

Also, on world Suicide day, there will be a 4.5km walk/run from the Castle Car Park in Cahir the same as last year at 7pm on Thursday 10th Sept. Once again a donation bucket will be available where €500 was raised last year for suicide awareness.

This week helps to mark the major problem in this country with Suicide and allows people a chance to remember friends , loved ones or family at a time of year that is always challenging when children head back to school and winter approaching. For further information on the walk please contact Andy Moloney.

Please do support the events if you can and remember those who have gone before us.
