CAHIR TOURIST OFFICE TO OPEN ON 29 APRIL

Independent Local Election Candidate for the Cahir/Clonmel Area, Martin Lonergan has yesterday, Wednesday 9, April, welcomed confirmation from F?ilte Ireland that Cahir Tourist Office will open for the tourist season on 29 April.

Commenting on the news Mr Lonergan said, ?Following queries from concerned locals and businesses in recent weeks, it is welcome confirmation from F??lte Ireland that the Tourist Office in Cahir will in fact open for business on the 29 April, albeit later than usual.?

?Cahir Town possesses some of the most spectacular tourist attractions in the country, from Cahir Castle to the Swiss Cottage and many more. Not only that, the area around Cahir offers a large amount of rich and varied scenery and activities.?

?The Tourist office in Cahir is the ideal, convenient, informative central point for all tourist?s holiday information requirements and is staffed by fully trained advisor's. It will continue to ensure that visitors are provided with advice and information on a range of services and attractions that will enable them to enjoy their stay, not only in Cahir but the wider Tipperary area,? according to Mr Lonergan.

?It is important, however, that we continue to lobby F?ilte Ireland and all stake holders to expand on the period of time the Office is open each year. It is vital to provide the best possible medium of information for visitors so that the Cahir Area can continue to benefit economically, socially and environmentally from the tourism sector,? concluded Mr Lonergan.
