Knockanrawley Resource Centre, Tipperary Town in conjunction with the Tipperary Education and Training Board are currently recruiting for our Back To Education Initiative (BTEI) Spring / Summer Courses for 2014.
The Back to Education Initiative provides part-time further education programmes for young people and adults who haven?t completed a second level education or are in receipt of a social welfare payment. The aim is to give people an opportunity to combine a return to learning with family, work and other responsibilities
Both Horticulture and General Learning courses will take place at Knockanrawley Resource Centre.
Horticulture course- This is a Level 4 which is equivalent to a Leaving cert standard. This course is a real hands on course where learners get to prepare beds, plant seeds and maintain the plants as they mature, while also gaining a lot of knowledge.
General Learning ? Learning for everyday living. This course provides a return to education for those who want to develop basic skills in maths/reading/ writing and computers. Other subjects included are Cookery, Growing vegetables etc
These courses will run in the mornings, Mon ? Fri (days to be decided )
These courses are free of charge. Subsidised Childcare is available at our Daisychain Childcare Centre for ?3 per morning. Participants will retain their social welfare entitlements.
Other BTEI courses available locally from Tipperary ETB are Office Skills and Social Care.
