Cahir GAA Notes

Weather again interrupts matches and training. The severe weather last week led to the cancellation of our matches. Hopefully things will improve this week and we can get back to actually playing games.

The draw the joker took place in the Shamrock Lounge on Sunday night. With only 20 cards remaining on the board, excitement is growing each week. However the joker was not turned and Martin Long had to settle for ?100 with James Hayden, Mattie Hussey and Jim Cantwell winning the other prizes. This week?s draw will take place in the Galtee Inn with the jackpot at ?8,600.

All-County Quiz

Our club is taking part in this year?s All County Table Quiz organized by Tipperary County GAA Board and our local heat is being held on this Fri Feb 21st in the Shamrock Lounge. On that night Fran Curry will call out the questions live on Tipp Fm to thousands of quiz enthusiasts all over the county and we will be ready to join in from our local venue. Participants must be seated by 9pm and be ready for the first round of questions which are all general knowledge. It costs ?40 per table and all individual ?10 entries will be entered in a special draw to be held on Co Final night with a weekend voucher and Garth Brook?s tickets as prizes. The winner(s) from our heats will go forward to the Grand County Final being held in The Dome, Semple Stadium on Fri March 14th where the outright winning table will receive ?2,000 and there are four All Ireland tickets and four Tipperary club season tickets for the two runner-up tables. There is also the added incentive for the highest scoring team qualifying under Sc?r rules to go forward and represent Tipperary in the All Ireland Sc?r Final. So if you want to test your knowledge against the best in our area and maybe the best in the county, turn up at 9pm this Fri night in the Shamrock Lounge.
