U21 B Hurling

What a dramatic few days our young men had in the U21 B South championship last week, first last Thursday evening under lights in Dr Morris Park they played Kilsheelan/Kilcash in the semi-final, in a good game our men seem to lack a little throughout the game but in the last quarter or so seemed to find themselves and powered home to take the win 2-16 to 0-14, then on to the South Final which was played last Sunday after a change of venue and time went ahead in Monroe, Grangemockler/ballyneale stood in front of our team in this South decider, and they did, sadly from the first to the last whistle our players seem to be second to every challenge and it never looked like turning to our favour on this occasion, look! We can't win them all, that's it for this year form our U21 hurlers and we want to thank all the players and their management team for the great effort put in over the last few months, and let's hope it can be all done again next year,

Draw the Joker

This week our fund raising game rolled into the Punters Rest last Sunday evening and as always we want to thank the Punters for their welcome to us all on the night, this was our third last draw before Christmas so was there a winner?, here are the winners: Sean Maher, Breda O'Donoghue, Jimmy Murphy, Claire O'Donnell and Gillian Llewellyn.

The County Clubs Draw for the month of December was held last Friday night, thankfully our club had one winner this month of €500 which went to Thomas P Meagher well done Thomas, that was the last draw for 2019, but we still have three more draws in 2020 for us all to have better luck and who knows a second car might make its way to Cahir before we start the 2020/21 year later on next year, hard to believe we are talking next year already, thank you to all of you who support our club by supporting the county draw, without you we could not keep this club going nor bring the McCarthy cup back to the County.

Congratulations

Congratulations to the town of Cahir when it took top spot in their category in the Bank of Ireland Enterprise awards 2019, well done to all the different groups in the town who came together to prove we have a very nice town no doubt about that, the cash prize will go a small way to make our town even better, we must thank our own club members who had a hand in this project by their presence and with a stand (and very nice it was too) at a couple of different gatherings during the year to help scoop the prize, again well done the people of Cahir.
