Woodland Walk Opening This Weekend

The Cahir Tidy Towns Group have been very active this year and are currently busy planting for the summer season.

Thanks to the Cahir Farmers Market for the sponsorship of the new bed at the back of the toilets in the castle street car park. This is a very important bed for visitors to the town as all buses embark and as we all know First impressions last.

Thanks also to Cahir House Hotel and SAP nurseries for sponsoring the bed at Cahir House on the square. This has been planted with sustainable planting unlike the geraniums of other years. This 8s on the recommendation of the adjudicator report.

We also carried an amount of weeding around town and the safe organic weed control seems to be working at last.

This coming weekend we have the official opening of the new woodland Walk and everyone is invited to come along to Moloneys Animal Farm in the car park from 12-3, we launch at 12.15 following some entertainment from the Brass Band and after the launch we will have a cup of tea as part of the street fest. Cahir Tidy Towns would like to thank Cllr Andy Moloney for this initiative and also CDA and South Tipperary Development CLG for their support in funding.

Creative Ireland also contributed to the new carvings and the work of Philip Quinn can be seen throughout the town.

Children are invited to bring their Fairy Doors to be inserted in the walk on Sunday and stewards will Be on hand to help with their positioning.

Meet as normal on Wednesday night at 7pm.
