Tipperary Cup Round 1

Rosegreen 0-2 Cahir Park AFC

We took on Rosegreen in the 1st Rd. of the Tipperary cup.

In a game that offered little in the way of excitement we were very slow to get going and allowed our hosts to settle into the game as they caused us brief moments of panic early on. It wasn't till half way through the first half that we found our passing game and started crating a few half chances. We took the lead on 35 mins when Alan O Donnell converted from the penalty spot.

The second half was much the same as we again started very poorly and allowed Rosegreen a foot hold in the game and it was during this period that they had their best chances which thankfully they couldn't take.

On 70 mins Rhys O Regan made it two nil from close range following.

We saw out the game without any further alarm to progress to the next round.

U12 Girls

Well done to the U12 Girls who travelled to Clonmel this morning against the newly formed Girls Team in Clonmel Town. In a very entertaining game the Cahir girls were 2 1 down at half time but were the better team in the second half running out comfortable winners. Well done to all the girls on a fantastic match. Best Wishes to Clonmel Town and there new Girls teams in the club. Great to see new teams taking part. As you can see in photos they were wearing there beautiful new kit very kindly sponsored by Noel O Donnell and family. We wish Noel Alan and all the crew the very best of luck in there new venture.

TS&DL Tipperary Youth Cup Quarter Final

Bansha Celtic 3

Cahir Park AFC 7

After a week of heavy rain this game was played in very heavy conditions.

Both teams had early goal opportunities but it was a case of Cahir capitalising on theirs and the home side being wasteful.

On 11 minutes following a swift move by the Park forwards who pulled the Bansha defence apart Rhys O'Regan opened the scoring, barely 2 minutes later David Clifford

scored a great individual goal when he broke free on the left and finished to the far corner. To their credit Bansha showed great determination and on 22 minutes Jake O'Donnell pounced

to get the home side back in the game. Barely 3 minutes later William O'Dwyer, got the goal of the day, picking up a clearance from a corner and curled it into the top corner of the Bansha net from 25 yards. Despite some other clear Cahir Park chances half time came with no further goals.

The second half started with Bansha on the front foot. In the first 15 minutes they tested the Park defence time and time again but failed to hit the net.

Then on 61 minutes Cahir Park effectively sealed the win when a great cross was headed home by Rhys O'Regan and barely 2 minutes later a powerful finish saw O'Regan complete his hat trick and see The Park with a 5-1 lead. On 66 minutes Bansha and Jake O'Donnell got their second. A throw in on the right was swiftly met by O'Donnell with his back to goal, clipping it in over the Cahir keeper.

The Park regained control and were unlucky not to extend their lead. On 79 minutes O'Regan got his 4th and on 81 minutes Cathal Berrigan made it 7-2 when giving the Bansha keeper no chance with a fierce finish. Just on 90 minutes Bansha completed the scoring when Killian Fitzgerald capitalised on a rare defensive mistake, still with plenty to do he powered his effort to the bottom corer of the net.

Cahir Park are on a very good run of form and whilst we await the draw for the Semi Finals we return to League action on Saturday next. Yet again our run of very tough games continues when we face a free scoring Peake Villa who themselves reached the cup semi-finals with a 10-1 win over Cashel Town.
