Cultural Cahir at Christmas
Saturday December 8th will be a hive of activity where Together Ireland team up with local groups for an international flavor to Christmas Celebrations. With 30% of a foreign national population in town we are reaching out for everyone to get involved.Cahir Farmers Market 9-1 in the Car Park. International Santa 5km Run. Prizes for winning male and female and several best dressed at 11am. registration is at Tourist Office and is sponsored by ABP. Entry fee is a donation towards the Christmas Lights. Craft Granary Fairy Door workshop at 2pm, Booking Essential through the craft Granary. From 3-5 Ceoltas Group, Kevin Farrell youth Choir and Cahir to Sing choir and musicians in Cahir House Disco Hall.Face painting with Magdalena in the disco hall from 3.Also the international Bake off with €200 winners prize where different nationalities display a traditional cake from their country for tasting and prize money totaling €400.All primary schools art competition judging and bring along your decorated Fairy Door for the chance to win a prize. Entry at 3pm. Information stands from local clubs and organizations in the hall for new members to see what's on offer. Santa in the Grotto from 2 to 5, Adm €5 with pressie included.At 5pm singing on the square from various groups while we build upto an international parade of flags.At 6pm a parade of Tractors, Trucks , Trikes and Bikes dressed up in Christmas lights will pass through the town. Meet for this on Mitchelstown Road at 5.30pmFire Engine on the square from 6-7pm for fire safety awareness at Christmas.The Christmas Lights will be switched on In the square after the parade. There will be many offers in a lot of shops on the 8th to coincide with the cultural day out and the event is supported by Together Ireland, Tipperary volunteers and Tipperary Co Co.
