South Senior football championship

On Saturday last we took on last year's county finalist's Killenaule in the first round of the south football championship, our team was lead out by Captain Sean O' Connor (pictured below)

to a very bitterly cold wind against us in the first half, Cahir were first off the mark with a point from a free slotted over by Liam Casey, but from the kick out our opponents levelled, same thing happened again within the next few minutes and on eight minutes Killenaule took the lead through a free, Killenaule took a grip of the game winning the kick outs from both sides and a couple of frees saw them go six ahead, on twenty three minutes a free to Cahir was turned over by ourselves and we were punished with a another point, Cahir would get two more points from frees and were converted by the beautiful boot of Casey which were taken so well against that strong wind, at the break the scoreboard read Cahir 0-04 Killenaule 0-10, the second half was no better for our players which were under pressure from the start with Brian Enright saving well twice within the first five minutes, on fifteen minutes that wind died just to a slight breeze but that did not do anything for our men, a hoard of individual and collective mistakes from ourselves seemed to be the order of the day and sadly there was nothing on display to see us turn this one around, final score Cahir 0-07 Killenaule 0-15,

full team and scorers: Brian Enright, Sean O'Connor, Kieran O'Dwyer, James Walsh, Conor Casey, Ger Hally, Patrick Meehan, Liam Casey (0-5), Daniel Moloney, Alan O'Connor. Niall McKenna, Eddie Kendrick, Nicholas Reidy, Mikey O'Connor (0-1), Darragh Howard. Subs Used: Dylan Fitzgerald, Dean Lonergan (0-1), Eanna Heffernan

Strictly come dancing Cahir 2018

As we told you last week our show is back again this year with all new dancers, fifteen couples in all and all are working hard getting their dance perfected for the two nights ahead, the two nights being Friday 30th of November and Saturday the 1st of December (keep them dates in mind), this year the 2 Johnnies will be the MC's on the night and we are told they have something special lined up for us on both nights, already there is great interest in the show and tickets are being pre booked as we speak, this year there will be no tickets for sale on the door for the Saturday night as bookings so far tell us it will be a sell-out, tickets will go on sale at the end of this week with all dancers and committee members having them for sale, please watch our Facebook page for all info; if you would like more info please contact John on 0872373887 or any Cahir GAA member and we will put you in the right direction if at all possible, so again the dates 30th of November and the 1st of December, hope to see you all there.
