Cahir Park AFC Notes

On Sunday last we welcomed our good friend Mary O Sullivan and family to Cahir Park to say thanks for over 35 years of looking after the jerseys and kits of all our club teams. On behalf of everyone in the club Paul Conway made a presentation to Mary and spoke of some of the first kits she washed many years ago. The O Sullivan family are engraved in the history of Cahir Park AFC and sadly her husband Chelsea and son Barry are no longer with us. We all enjoyed refreshments and a wander around our clubhouse looking at photos of years gone by. We wish Mary a long and happy retirement and say a big Thank you from all your friends in Cahir Park AFC.

Premier League Result

Cahir Park 1 Clonmel Town 2

We welcomed Clonmel Town to the Park today and after a frantic opening 10 mins both teams settled and with chances at both ends in a though physical game Darren Murphy put the home team in front. We were good value for our half time lead with good performances all over the pitch. Town started the better in the second half and with 20mins remaining hit us with two goals in 5 mins. We responded well and went in search of the equalizer but a good opportunity missed with a few mins remaining saw us end up on the wrong side of a 2 1 result. We will pick ourselves up and go again. Hard luck boys. MON THE PARK..

U12 & U16 Girls

Well done to our U12s and U16 Girls who travelled to Tipp Town this morning, result didnt go there way but they gave it everything. Well done to Linda, Paul and all the girls.

U12 National Cup Round 3

Cahir Park 1-0 Piltown

A tight game which was only decided with 5 minutes to go with a super finish from Padraig Farrell. A mighty performance from the boys who had to be at the top of their game to get this result against a very good Piltown team.

On to round 4 now with an away game to Evergreen

U14 National Cup

Seaview Celtic 0 4 Cahir Park

Cahir park 14.s made long trip to sea view Celtic conditions were poor but we battled rain and started very fast wit great football we won a corner Adam hennessy crossed a perfect ball to Chris o.donnel who put us 1 nil up we played lovely football and wit hard tackles going in from both sides Nathan Buttler got a bad kick witch had to come off Jason come of bench and only on 5 mins scored our second wit a trough ball from Adam to go 2 up at half time sea view started strong in second half but our keeper Dylan Morrissey played game of his life cleaning up every ball as game went on we took advantage of tired legs and Andrew Gallagher fresh of bench scored 2 more to finish the game off thanks to sea view Celtic for hospitality today.

Tsdl Division 3

Killusty 2 4 Cahir Park

Today we travelled to Killusty for our 6th leauge game of the season

It was the home side who started the brighter and after a good move they opened the scoring on 15th mins when the Killusty striker finished from close range.

Killusty kept up the pressure on the park defence and got their second goal ten minutes later when a good ball was crossed into the box and the strker slotted home his second.

But things changed for Killusty 5 mins later when they were reduced to ten men when the midfielder was given his second yellow for a wild tackle.

After a poor first half the park came out the second half a different team and on 55 mins jonas kerr got one back, 5 mins later the park got teir second as alan o donoughue ran into the box and fired the ball into the bottom corner.

The park Really pilled on the pressure and took the lead on the 76th min when billy Duggan scored a fantastic goal chipping the goalkeeper from 20 yards

The park scored their 4th goal on the 85th min, a great run from jack duggan down the left side found jonas kerr free in the box who back heeled it brilliantly past the goalkeeper into the bottom corner

Another hard earned 3 points away from home against a battling Killusty team sees the park continue their great start to the season collecting 16 points from a possible 18.

Thanks to Niall Morrison for his kind sponsorship of a set of jerseys for our U/16 Team. Very much Appreciated. ⚽️
