Moloney Calls For Greenway Funding Cycle Lane

A recent meeting of the Clonmel Borough District Council heard a motion put before the meeting to have a cycle lane from Cahir to Cashel.

Cllr Andy Moloney said that under the new Greenway Funding that was available it had an ideal opportunity to link both historic Castle Towns and re-energize the village of New Inn with passing cycling trade.

The old road has plenty space for a cycle lane since the opening of the M8 and this is an ideal chance to secure government funding.

In reply to the motion, Clonmel Borough District in conjunction with the roads section will assess the feasibility of submitting an application to the National and Regional Greenway Fund for the old Cahir to Cashel road as a project proposal.
